Day 3 ~ My Creative Time New Release

Hope you are enjoying the Sneaky Peeks so far.......this release is sooo much fun ~ ok ALL the releases are FUN!!!

Today I am sneaking "Anchors & Heart Dies" and "Hey Sailor Stamp Set".  Both these sets coordinate with each other.  I'm loving the anchor sooo much!!  I'm totally going to try to cut the chain die cut from foam and see how that will make such a different look.  The sentiment I put on my card is from the stamp set and to make it "curve" around the circle dies I used (new Bunch of Fun Circle Dies) all I did was "bend" the stamp on my acrylic block in a curve to fit the circle.  Did you know you can do that with clear stamps??  I love "manipulating" stamps to work with what I've designed.  You cannot ruin your stamps by doing this unless you leave them on the acrylic block like that for a very long time.  I clean off stamp after using and place back on clear sheet in original shape ~ no problems!

Close up of the die cuts ~ don't you just love the piercing look on the anchor!!

Close up of how I "curved" the sentiment stamp on the circle die:

Day 2 ~ Sneak Peek for MCT Release

Today I am showcasing "Lost at Sea Stamp Set with coordinating dies" & "Stripey Background Stamp".

Love the port hole die that comes with the Lost at Sea stamp set ~ so many possibilities to do with this one!!  I made a box that I could "hang" from a water bottle and then fill with goodies.  I used the second smallest circle from the new Bunch of Fun Circle Dies to punch a hole to fit over the top of the bottle of water.  Love the background striped stamp so stamped that on the back of the box to give it some depth.  There are so many fun sentiments with the Lost at Sea stamp set and I went with the "You are a lifesaver" so I could fill the box with lifesaver candies!  The sailboat is a favorite and the red sail ties it all together!  Hope you are enjoying these Sneak Peeks!!

Close up of die cut and stamps used from "Lost at Sea".  I used clear embossing powder on sail boat to give it a "shiny" look.

Here you can see the stitching left from using the circle die to cut out hole for bottle of water and also a close up of stripey background stamp.

I cut the "hello" from the Speech Bubble Sentiments set out of foam ~ love the 3d look!  I also stamped the Scripty Background onto the tag for an antique look.  All I can say is these sets are a must to have!!

Love the stitching around the circle left when it's cut out.

Here is a close up of the script stamp background on the tag die and also the foam cut "hello". The "beautiful" sentiment stamped on the banner die is also new from Speech Bubble Sentiments.

Birthday

I made this card and matching bag for my little neighbor that absolutely LOVES Spiderman!  I think this card turned out adorable and was so much fun to make!!
I originally cut out the Spiderman file too big for the card but he fit perfect on the plain blue bag!

The spiderweb pattern paper I had left over from Halloween projects was the best background to make this little Spiderman pop!
Products Used:
Paper: Pebbles ~ Halloween line
Cardstock: American Crafts
Twine and Sprinkles
Clear Embossing Powder
My Creative Time: Many Greetings
Spiderman Cut: Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon ~ Superheroes file

Thrifty Thursday

Today is Thrifty Thursday on My Creative Time Blog. The goal is to create a project using scraps/leftovers or a recycled item. I took on a toilet paper roll, again!  and covered with scrap paper and then added dies to create a flower vase/gift.  Using extra dies and scraps of papers on my desk over the last few projects I've done made this little gift come together nicely!  Even added paper grass left from Easter Baskets!  I'm sure my husband is pleased I'm recycling the many spare rolls we have ~ lol!

Close up of flowers and the pinwheel I created from one of Emma's dies ~ check out below to see how to make this.
Added the Tag Gift Pocket Die to front of tube to add a gift card or cash ~ great add on!
My Creative Time Products Used:

Other Products Used:
Paper: Simple Stories & scrap cardstock
Mini Clothes Pin
Pearls & Enamel Dots
Paper Grass
Wood Dowels
Wire
Toilet Paper Roll

How I made the pinwheel:

First, using the instant photo die from 4x4 Journal Die + More set, I cut out of paper for the small square.
Next, using scissors, cut into each corner towards center:
Place a glue dot in center and then fold one opposite corner on each side to center:
Do this all the way around:
Using the small flower from Stitched Pretty Flowers set, glue dot flower to center to cover paper ends. You can use a circle or even small star in center too:

Now you have a pinwheel!!

Whatever Wednesday

It's another Whatever Wednesday over on My Creative Time blog.  Love this day when we can make "whatever" we want!!  I've had this wood bird for a couple of months now just waiting to cover it.  No better time than now and think he turned out pretty cute!!  Nice addition to home decor with his bright, cheery colors.

Close up of the dies I used.  I just layered a bunch to give a whimsical feeling.

Try Me Tuesday

It's Try Me Tuesday over at My Creative Time.
Today we are making a card with feathers.  Since feathers seem to be a trend these days, this was fun to make!  There are many different ways to add feathers to your cards.  You can use store bought feathers, die cut feathers or even cut out your own feathers from paper ~ pretty easy to do, just make a skinny leaf shape and then using scissors, cut in the sides and snip out little pieces to create your feather.  I took the easy way out and had my machine cut them!!

First card, I cut the feathers from Kraft paper and then using my stylus, rubbed down the center of each feather to create a "stem" look.

My Creative Time Products Used:

Other Products Used:
Paper: Stampin' Up
Button, Twine and Enamel Dots
Feathers cut from Cameo

Had so much fun with the first card that I made another!!  Amazing how the feathers can change the whole look by just cutting out in pattern color paper.

Paper: Simple Stories
Doily, Sequins and Enamel Dots

Hope this inspired you to try this technique!!
