Day 3 ~ Sneak Peek for MCT Release

It's day 3 of My Creative Time's 34th Release!!  Today we are sneaking 2 new sets ~ "Alpha Pack" and "Trio Stitched Banners".  Both these sets are a must have!!
I created this photo card to showcase the 3 different alphabet stamp sets that come in the "Alpha Pack" and also highlight the new folded banners!  The Trio Stitched Banners, as in the name, come with 3 different sizes ~ I used the smallest with my kids names.
This photo card will be perfect to send in the mail as it folds up and then can be used to put on display ~ wonder who to send too??? Lol!  I'm sure my mother is screaming at the computer screen right now!!

This shows the card flat to see more detail ~ I used 4x6 Stitched Journal Die for the left and right sides of this card from paper.

Looking down at the card you can see the banner "hanging" and the tri-fold look.

I used the largest font in the "Alpha Pack" for LOVE YOU on the banners and medium number stamps for the 2013 on the tab.
Here is the folded banners with the smallest font from "Alpha Pack" ~ love this font, looks like I used a typewriter on the banners!  Added bonus with this stamp set is you can spell anything and stamp once!!

Trio Stitched Banners (new release)

Other Products Used:
Paper: Simple Stories ~ Homespun Collection

Day 1 ~ Sneak Peek for MCT Release

Today is the first day of sneaks for this months My Creative Time's 34th release!
We are showcasing 3 new items ~ "Grainy Wood Background",  "Fun Letter Background" and "Large Cloud Bubble Edge Die".

The background stamps are way too fun!!  I used the "wood background" stamp for the background of this card and also on a treat box I created on my silhouette.

Brown ink on Kraft cardstock really makes a great "wood" look!
Close up of how awesome the detail of the wood background stamp is!!

Cutting the box I created off my silhouette in Kraft and then stamping the wood background really gave the perfect look for this gift!

I'm just loving this wood background stamp!!
My Creative Time Products Used:
Grainy Wood Background (new release)

Other Products Used:
Twine, Button, Sequins & Enamel Dots
Ink: Ranger Archival Ink ~ Coffee
Box: designed myself on silhouette

This card I used the Large Cloud Bubble Edge Die and then stamped the Fun Letter Background on it.  This is another great background stamp great for any project!
Close up of the speech bubble with background stamp.  I used a mini distress ink pad and sponge dauber to add ink to the stamp as I really like the almost crackle look it gave.

Scrapping the Little Things

Today is Scrapping the Little Things on the My Creative Time blog. We were to create a scrapbook layout based on this sketch.
Not only was I inspired by this sketch, but also the paper I used.  It's the new We are Family Collection by Echo Park Paper.  I love this picture of us as a Family so thought it was perfect to showcase in a layout using MCT products!!

Close up of "happy" die cut I used with a sticker from the collection pack. Mixing and matching stamps and dies with papers & stickers really gives a unique look.

Thrifty Thursday

Today is Thrifty Thursday on My Creative Time Blog. The goal is to create a project using scraps/leftovers or a recycled item.
I have been wanting to make a card with the easel cutting files that are out there and thought this would be the perfect time to do it!!  I used scrap papers to cut the die cuts from projects I've done and had just enough wood grain cardstock to cut the card base.  This was such a fun card to make and with all the different occasions to make cards, I definitely will be making more of these easel style cards!!

Stamping with white ink on chalkboard paper is perfect for the chalkboard look!!

Try Me Tuesday

It's Try Me Tuesday over at My Creative Time.  Today we are making a card in a "slide puzzle" design.  You know those little slide puzzles that you get in party bags or as prizes ~ fun little puzzles!!  The idea for this card is pretty much the same way and looks pretty on a finished card.  You can see the technique here ~ which is pretty much what I reviewed before starting my card.  This was a fun technique and I was able to use my new Tim Holtz mini distress inks with the round blending tool.  My daughter was watching me and decided this was pretty fun so she started "blending" colors on paper!!
Here is my card:

The orange distress ink I used actually turned out to look a little more like yellow with the blue and pink so I accented the background paper with yellow.

I love the look when you leave the die cut on the cut sentiment and then blend ink around ~ I did this technique with the circle dies.
These distress inks are perfect for white cardstock die cuts ~ I used the pink on a die cut butterfly so it would totally match plus I could "shade" the wings!
My Creative Time Products Used:

Other Products Used:
Cardstock: American Crafts
Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks: Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry & Spiced Marmalade
Ranger Round Blending Tool
Clear Embossing Powder
Versa Mark Stamp Pad
Pearls

Hope this inspired you to try this technique!!

Made in Minutes

It's Made in Minutes over on the My Creative Time Blog. Our challenge is to design something that is "made in minutes" ~ with the products offered by My Creative Time, it's super fun and easy to do!!

This card maybe took me 15 minutes to complete. I cut the medium butterfly die from white cardstock, then pop dotted yellow behind to show butterfly cut outs.  I glued this to striped paper to give some color and then glued to a white cardstock base.  I really wanted the butterflies to pop so I cut the small butterfly die from polka dot yellow paper and then pop dotted to the center of the medium butterfly cut outs.  I added a sentiment to the left (this is what took me the most time, trying to figure out what I wanted to say!) then some sequins and enamel dots to finish the look!! Another super easy & super cute card!!

Close up of "negative" cut butterflies on white cardstock with yellow paper behind and then pop dotted small polka dot butterflies in center.

Inspiration Wednesday

Today is Inspiration Wednesday over at My Creative Time! This is when we create a project that was inspired by colors, a picture, someone else's creation or whatever.
What inspired me to create this project was the stack of office store cut note pads I have sitting in my "to do" stach!!  Everyone always needs a notepad to jot down a shopping list or leave a little message, so this is a perfect gift idea too!!
