Scrapping the Little Things

Today is Scrapping the Little Things on the My Creative Time blog. We were to create a scrapbook layout based on this sketch.

Here is my layout based off this sketch.

Ok I really changed this sketch up ~ instead of circles I used hexagons to go with the paper.  I love these pictures of my son with his pet turtle and this paper was perfect!!  Used lots of MCT dies to accent and tie it all together.  Using the Alpha Pack stamps to create the title was just right!

What a Treat! Wednesday

Today is "What a Treat Wednesday" over on My Creative Time Blog.
We are to make treat bags, boxes and containers of any style we like.  I'm loving this day as I'm all about making gifty items!!
I have had these little boxes of Mike and Ike candies sitting on my desk with the intention to create something cute with them to give to friends.  Well today was the day and I'm pleased with the results!! Now I have some cute little gifts to hand out to friends at our next luncheon!

My Creative Time Products Used:

Other Products:
Paper: Simple Stories
Ribbon and twine: Maya Roads
Martha Stewart Score Board
EK Success Slot Punch
Ranger Archival Ink ~ Coffee and Black

Here are the steps in making this candy slider treat box:

Cut base paper with 4x6 journal die.
Stamp cut piece with background stamp ~ I used grainy wood.  Then score piece at 1.5", 2",  4 1/8" and  4 5/8".
As you can see background stamp didn't cover the entire piece of paper, but no worries since the flap will be glued and you will not see it.
Glue flap down to create box.
Using a slot punch, punch in center top.
Slide ribbon through both slots and then using candy, push ribbon down into box. Tie on top.

This technique can be used for all sorts of boxed candies or chocolate bars.  With the holidays coming up, you could make some cute gifts!!

Made in Minutes

It's Made in Minutes over on the My Creative Time Blog.  Our challenge is to design something that is "made in minutes" ~ with the products offered by My Creative Time, it's super fun and easy to do!!
This card took me about 20 minutes to complete including cutting time!  Always in need of a birthday card especially a masculine theme one.  Using the base of the 3x3 Fancy Tri-Fold Card and then stamping paint splatters really added to the card quickly.  Using the star stamp patterns on white cut stars ensured the color combo was perfect!

Lil' Pumpkin

I created this cute little treat box to enter in this month's SVG's Cutting Files ~ Anything with Fall Colors Challenge!  I love Fall and all the super cute papers and cuts!  Bath and Body Works has their fall products out and I picked up a little Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin lotion and body spray.  The Mini Bottle Carrier cut file by SVG fits these bottles perfectly!!  I then decorated the front of the carrier with the cute little pumpkin cut from the Harvest Handled Bag Set.  Perfect Fall gift set!!

Thrifty Thursday

Today is Thrifty Thursday on My Creative Time Blog. The goal is to create a project using scraps/leftovers or a recycled item.
Last month we tried a technique on a card called "slide puzzle" design.  I had made two different bases but ended up picking the vine one when I used it here.   With the butterfly background piece sitting on my desk, I thought this was the perfect time to use it and make a card!!  The butterfly die cut was also from another project I just didn't use.  I think I could have used this card for "made in minutes" too with everything pre-done!  Love using scraps or leftovers for quick results!

I embossed the background using the butterfly stamp and then colored in with mini distress inks and the handy dandy little circle blending tool ~ so fun!
My Creative Time Products Used:

Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks: Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry & Spiced Marmalade
Ranger Round Blending Tool
Clear Embossing Powder
Versa Mark Stamp Pad
Pearls

This card I thought was perfect for "Thrifty Thursday" as I used all washi tape strips instead of pattern paper ~ super easy!

Scrapping the Little Things

Today is Scrapping the Little Things on the My Creative Time blog. We were to create a scrapbook layout based on this sketch.

Here is my layout based off this sketch.

I started with 4 different pattern papers that I used the 4x4 Journal Die to cut the four squares as a base start to this sketch.  From there, I added a whole bunch of MCT Dies ~ Love them!!!  For the journal strips, I extended the small Stitched Decorative Banner Die and cut so both ends have the angle cut.  So fun to use a sketch to scrap!
