Grad Inspiration

It's that time of year again, school's almost out and 2013 Grads are celebrating!!  Love the new Graduation Collection by Doodlebug, not only cause Doodlebug is my favorite paper line, but the owls are stinkin' cute!!  I made a layout (finally inspired to get my daughter's pre-school graduation pictures scrapped!) and then a unique money/gift card holder.  Thanks to Doodlebug for inspiration on re-creating this card "box" I had done last year and changing it up.  Here is a tutorial on how you can make this card ~ can be any theme and it folds up nicely to stick into an envelope!  Enjoy!!
(dies used: Nesting Circles and Nesting Scallop Circles)

Money/Gift Card Holder Tutorial:

Start with a piece of cardstock 4"x11".  Score at 1", 2 1/2", 4" and 5 1/2".

Cut a slit to hold gift card or cash between the 1" and 2 1/2" score lines. Fold on score lines, rolling to make a box and attach 1" scored piece to card back as shown below.
 Decorate card as desired.

May QuicKutz Club

May Club Kits are ready for pick-up!

This month's project I used the new Detailz emboss/cut dies.  Love the look, especially when you take a sanding tool and "ruff" up the embossing lines to really showcase them!  This plant stick is ideal to add to any flower/plant gift ~ very unique touch!

Die of the Month:

Who doesn't love owls??  How cute is this exclusive die!  Not only is he an owl but I thought he looked like a fluffy bird! Check out the cards I made using this die both ways!!

(dies used: Nesting Eyelet Circles, Tape-It Kit, Branches, bird and Owl (exclusive May 2013 Club Die))

Football

My son's football spring season ends today ~ last game for Championship.  Go Black Knights Go!!
I made football cookies and attached a die cut jersey with each players number for all the boys.  I also made a simple frame for the head coach to recognize his time and efforts throughout the season.
Hardest part was icing the cookies.....my husband said I could get a job in a bakery....he's so sweet!!  Looking at making cookies for your event ~ Paper Cottage has a ton of different cookie cutter shapes to choose from!

Teacher Gifts

Whew life gets busy!!!  Finally had a chance to sit down and get some Teacher Appreciation Gifts done ~ nothing like leaving til the last minute and those that know me well know I'm not a last minute person!!  But now you all get to enjoy what I created and "how-to's" and "freebies" to re-create if desired!!

I took a couple of Apple Hand Sanitizer bottles and did a "bottle cover" to decorate the front.  I took the Fancy Envelope Tab dies and revamped them to suit what I needed.  Just cut die of choice, using a score board, score where needed, fold and then cut circle in flap to go over a bottle. Trim off any excess paper that is not needed.  Try this technique today!!

(dies used: Fancy Envelope Tabs, Tape it Kit and 2x2 apple)

I had a couple of note pads that came with pens that I just covered with school papers.  I added a printable that I got Here, punched out using nesting circles and pop dotted into place.
(dies used: Nesting Circles and 2x2 scissors)

Lastly, I made up these post-it note holders for the office staff at the school.  The tutorial on how to make these can be found here that I did up last year.

Enjoy!!

Treat Jars

I found some small embellishment jars I've been collecting and decided to get some good use out of them!  Just in time for Teacher Appreciation and Mother's Day, I made up these jars to hand out ~ the mustache one is my favorite......
