What a Treat! Wednesday

Today is "What a Treat Wednesday" over on My Creative Time Blog. We are to make treat bags, boxes or containers of any style we like.  I like to give more than just a gift card on holidays and found this cut file that would do just the thing!!  Adding Emma's goodies to this cut file really made it come out super cute!!  I gave these card treats to friends and now need to make up some more as they will be perfect for teachers!!

 Though this file is meant for tea light candles inside box area, I put yummy chocolates!!

 Adding the gift card pocket die was perfect inside this card flap!

What a Treat! Wednesday

Today is "What a Treat Wednesday" over on My Creative Time Blog.We are to make treat bags, boxes or containers of any style we like.  I found these tissues at Target that have leaves printed across them so thought they'd make a perfect gift.  I found this pattern for a tissue box holder here ~ by Jamie, she has some super cute stuff!!  So taking the tissue box holder and tissues, I created this box using the new leave dies and I've added Groot ~ who doesn't love him!!!!  

When I cut all the pieces to Groot, I then stamped the pieces with the "Grainy Wood Background Stamp".  Isn't this fun!!  I'm not sure if I'll be able to part with him now though.........maybe a gift for me on my desk!

 The sentiment I used is from the stamp set "Live Love Bark" ~ it's perfect for tissues!!

What a Treat! Wednesday

Today is "What a Treat Wednesday" over on My Creative Time Blog.

We are to make treat bags, boxes and containers of any style we like.  I'm loving this day as I'm all about making gifty items!! 

I have had these little boxes of Mike and Ike candies sitting on my desk with the intention to create something cute with them to give to friends.  Well today was the day and I'm pleased with the results!! Now I have some cute little gifts to hand out to friends at our next luncheon!

Here are the steps in making this candy slider treat box:

Cut base paper with 4x6 journal die.

Stamp cut piece with background stamp ~ I used grainy wood.  Then score piece at 1.5", 2",  4 1/8" and  4 5/8".

As you can see background stamp didn't cover the entire piece of paper, but no worries since the flap will be glued and you will not see it. 

Glue flap down to create box. 

Using a slot punch, punch in center top. 

Slide ribbon through both slots and then using candy, push ribbon down into box. Tie on top. 

This technique can be used for all sorts of boxed candies or chocolate bars.  With the holidays coming up, you could make some cute gifts!!

What a Treat!

Today we are starting a new feature in place of "Whatever Wednesday" over on My Creative Time Blog.
We are to make treat bags, boxes and containers of any style we like.  I'm gonna love this day as I'm all about making gifty items!!  Since my daughter started back at school this week, I incorporated making the teacher a "back to school" gift.  This pencil box is too stinkin' cute!! 
My daughter's new teacher loves washi tape so I filled the inside of this cute box with rolls of tape.

I created this tag using lots of MCT Products and tied it around the box.  Did you also notice how I used the wood background stamp for the "wood" part on the pencil.  I couldn't believe how much it made this pencil even cuter!!

 The banner on the tag with "4 U Teacher", I used the banner from Chocolate Greetings, but cut it twice to get the V on both ends and fit the sentiment perfectly.  I'm excited about the apple I made in the center of the circle ~ I took the technique I learned from "Stretch your Stamps" that I saw the video here and used "Build a Pretty Flower" to create.  After stamping, I just fussy cut around and added Wink of Stella for some shine!
